Coding Dojo - Attendance Policy and Administrative Withdrawals

Coding Dojo - Attendance Policy and Administrative Withdrawals

This policy is applicable to students who started a program at Coding Dojo after January 1st, 2025.  If you started a Coding Dojo program prior to 1/1/25, please visit: https://coloradotech.smartcatalogiq.com/en/2024/catalog/general-information-on-coding-dojo-certificate-programs/

Coding Dojo recognizes that regular attendance has a positive impact on a student’s success in their program of study.  Students are expected to participate in all scheduled classes per the table below.  Coding Dojo monitors attendance for each course every week to support academic success. Attendance is only recorded based on the activities in the table below.  Students are required to complete a class related activity at least once every 9 days to remain enrolled at Coding Dojo. However, students are encouraged to participate in the activities listed below daily to successfully complete their coursework.

Students may participate in the activities listed below, and students may choose to work ahead in each course in which they are scheduled, but it is the responsibility of the student to meet Coding Dojo’s attendance requirements.

Attendance means:

  • Making an academic post to a graded Discussion Board.
  • Attempting or completing work in UCertify.
  • Attending an in-progress Zoom-based Live Chat for five or more consecutive minutes.

Participation Requirements/Administrative Withdrawals

This information is applicable to non-Programming Basics courses. For information regarding participation requirements, Administrative Withdrawals, and Stand Period of Non-Enrollment impacting Programming Basics, please see the Programming Basics policy.

During the first 9 calendar days of the session:

All students must participate at least once in a class related activity (see definition above). If a student does not participate in a class related activity during the first 9 calendar days of the session, the student is administratively withdrawn from the university.

Once a student has participated in a class related activity within the first 9 days of a session:

  • Students in 6 week course(s) only: students who have not posted attendance for 9 consecutive calendar days will be administratively withdrawn from the University.
  • Students registered in multiple 6 week courses with a current university LDA but did not attend all courses will receive a W grade at the conclusion of the fifth week of the session for the unattended course (See Scenario #1 below)
  • Students registered in multiple 6 week courses who maintain current attendance in at least one course will receive a final letter grade in that course and any other courses with attendance within the session unless the student requests a course withdrawal (See Scenario #2 below)

A student who is administratively withdrawn from Coding Dojo is not eligible to re-enroll or re-enter Coding Dojo in any future session.
