Course Delivery Methods

At Colorado Technical University students who are enrolled through a ground campus may be scheduled for courses in three modalities, or delivery methods.  All students who are enrolled through one of CTU’s ground campuses should expect to take a portion of their classes through the fully online modality.  Fully online resources and tools are offered including support contacts throughout the university.

Please note that not all courses will be available in all delivery methods each session. Check with your student or academic advisor regarding course availability. For information regarding the definition of “attendance” in the course modalities below please see the Attendance Policy.

  1. On Campus: This is the traditional, classroom-based course modality. Students in an on-campus course will be required to attend classes at a specified time at the campus where the course is being taught.Students will be required to submit assignments through the MyCampus portal.
  2. Fully Online: A fully online course is delivered 100% online via CTU’s Virtual Campus. Students in a fully online course should expect to interact with their classmates and instructor through the Virtual Campus.Certain fully online programs may require an in-person meeting component. Please refer to the degree requirements portion of the University Catalog for more information.
  3. Blended: Blended courses combine the on-campus and fully online delivery methods. Students in a blended course will be required to attend classes at a specified time at the campus where the course is being taught. Students will be required to interact with other students and the instructor, as well as submit individual assignments through the MyCampus portal. CTU reserves the right to move the on campus meeting times to Zoom-based Live Chats.
