NRSG230 Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing

This course is designed to provide students with a sound foundation in medical- surgical nursing care of the adult client. Content integrates knowledge from the biological, physical, and behavioral sciences, along with the nursing process. Emphasis will be placed on adults experiencing common medical surgical conditions. The role of the professional nurse in caring for the adult client continues to be a focus in the context of safe and effective patient centered care. Laboratory skill sessions in this course include use of feeding tubes, nasogastric tubes, Foley catheterization, wound and skin care and seizure precautions. Proficiency in these requisite skills is a course requirement.
