NPL870 Nonprofit Leadership and Management

This course is designed to prepare the student or leadership that is integrated and aligned with nonprofit mission and values.  The course will provide students with theories and experiential exercises that address the philosophy critical for the management and leadership of the challenges and opportunities in the field of nonprofit administration. The course will cover the underlying principles of nonprofits as it addresses the diversity of structure within the field.  The course will examine board education and loyalty (dedication), mission driven leadership, ethical decision-making, and the selection, management and training of staff, volunteers, and donors and the importance of human rights, the environment and social change as principles of nonprofit organizations.
