HSS261 Ethics in Healthcare
Healthcare ethics can have a major impact on everyone involved in healthcare from the patient to the provider. There are ethical questions that arise in healthcare involving technology and whether it should be used in all cases and questions on charges and payment for services in healthcare. The healthcare management professional must be ready to present him/herself as an ethical administrator. This course will provide the foundation for ethical practice and include discussion on various influences on ethics. Students will have an opportunity to complete virtual simulations that provide case studies to further their understanding of ethics and apply ethics in the healthcare management environment. In addition, students will be provided with the information, and have the opportunity to take a HIPAA Awareness examination.
