PSYC430 Spirituality and Faith
This course will focus on the psychological study of spirituality and faith. Students will examine the many interpretive frameworks for understanding spirituality and faith as it is practiced around the world. The impact of spirituality, faith, and religion as a significant factor in human functioning will be discussed. Students will analyze the application of psychological research methods to diverse forms of religion, spirituality and faith. The psychological research will be reviewed for its application to a variety of settings and issues. Students will examine ways to foster positive, constructive dialogue and interchange between differing religious perspectives. Students will also have an opportunity to examine their own belief systems within a psychological context.
