PN115 Maternal-Newborn Nursing

In this course, Practical Nurse students will explore nutrition requirements and health promotion of the pregnant mother and newborn. Metabolic, anatomic, hormonal, psychological and physiological changes that take place in the pregnant mother will be discussed. Emphasis is given to normal pregnancy, labor, and delivery as part of family development. The structure and functioning of the male and female reproductive systems, as well as sexual development, is explained.
