PBAD220 Public Sector Personnel Management

This course will introduce the student to personnel/human resource management (P/HRM) issues and challenges in the context of public sector agencies. Issues to be covered include the evolution of public/civil service, basic P/HRM practices at the federal, state, and local levels of government, and key issues such as employee development, merit systems, compensation and benefits, collective bargaining, equal opportunity employment and affirmative action, and employee productivity.
