This course provides an introduction to the economic forces facing the healthcare industry on a micro-economic level. Students learn how economic principles, forces and market conditions impact healthcare providers, organizations, and patients. Topics include market conditions, supply and demand, consumer demand, competition, monopoly, government intervention and aggregate supply and demand.
