HSS310 Economics of Healthcare

This course builds on the learner’s understanding of the principles of microeconomics to examine the importance of economics in healthcare decisions. The economic principles and market conditions impacting the healthcare industry will be discussed. Students are introduced to the various forces influencing the economics of healthcare including but not limited to competition, supply and demand, the role of healthcare providers, consumers and payers, and how public policy Influences the economy of healthcare.
