Master of Science in Information Technology - Security Management Specialization
Protecting the assets and information of an organization’s vital enterprise computing infrastructure continues to be an area of large and growing concern. This concern gains greater momentum in the face of mobile and cloud computing. These courses are intended to develop, in the student, the ability to architect, plan, design, implement, monitor, and manage suitable computer security systems for such an enterprise.
The Master of Science in Information Technology with a specialization in Security Management (MSIT-SM) is a program for students with a desire to develop professional skills in the main functional area of security management.

Preparatory Requirements
The CTU Master of Science in Information Technology degree program is designed to provide technical depth in the issues and concerns for enterprise level solutions. In order to achieve this depth a solid foundation in Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT) is required. Students without a CS or IT undergraduate degree must demonstrate at least two years of work experience in the field. Students who have successfully completed Colorado Technical University’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program meet the requirements necessary to gain entrance into the MSIT program.
National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security
The Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have recognized Colorado Technical University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense (CAE IA/CD). The CTU cyber security curriculum was certified thereby to map to the DHS/NSA cybersecurity knowledge units. This recognition and certification is valid through 2021.
This CAE IA/CD designation is applicable to this degree program.
