MGMT503 Principles of Business Administration

This course introduces students to the principles and concepts needed to manage in today’s business environment including management, legal and ethical environment of business, business policies and strategies, and information technology from a local and global perspective. The course will cover management principles (planning, leading, controlling, and organizing in local and global organizations); organizational behavior principles (impact of individual behavior, group dynamics, team development, culture, globalization, and motivation on an organization); HR principles (functions of recruitment, selection, diversity, compensation, labor relations, and training and development in local and global environments); operations management principles (forecasting, planning, inventory, productivity, quality, reliability, and global sourcing); business policies and strategies to achieve competitive advantage; and the impact of information technology to achieve efficiencies and improve performance in a local and global business.
