HIT296 Practical Applications of Coding and Billing
This course will provide the student with the opportunity to apply ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS codes to a given set of scenarios. Scenarios from facility based operations (inpatient and outpatient) and from the physician office perspective will be presented for assignment of codes. Each of the specialty areas from the ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 manuals will be addressed. This practical application of coding is designed to prepare the student for employment in an inpatient or ambulatory setting.
