PBAD330 Crisis Decision Making

Government officials often find themselves forced to make decisions in times of crises (political, operational, fiscal, or otherwise) and therefore need to understand how crises impact decision making, how to anticipate crises, and how to create plans to respond to and recover from crises.  This course focuses on developing the skills and competencies required to play a leadership role in public sector agencies during times of crisis.  This includes understanding the effect crises and their aftermaths have on organizations, determining how to manage resources and implement plans during crises, managing public communications, and developing collaborative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to enhance coping with crises and their aftermaths.
