NRSG414 Community and Public Health Nursing

The promotion of health and prevention of illness is the focus of the Community and Public Health Nursing course. This course is one of the final two courses in the program, along with NRSG415, Clinical Reasoning Seminar. Theories from public health, nursing, and social science, as well as knowledge gained from previous learning, set the foundation for students to examine and critically think about the health of selected populations in a community. Healthy People 2020 serves as a guide for the identification of at-risk groups throughout the lifespan. Assignments will be entered into an e-portfolio along with those of previous courses and the clinical reasoning seminar. The e-portfolio will be updated with course assignments and professional and educational experiences as students progress through their program.
