ENGL240 Professional Communication for Technical Careers

This course covers the preparation of a wide variety of technical documents, which include but is not limited to, abstracts and/or executive summaries, mechanism and process descriptions, instructions, proposals, requirement specifications, test plans and procedures, and technical datasheets. Particular attention is given to adapting writing style to a particular audience, adjusting document mechanics and semantics for a specific purpose, formatting design elements in a consistent manner, and integrating graphics into a document. The course also emphasizes oral communication through the incorporation both formal and informal presentations throughout the course.
