IT401 Information Technology Architectures

The major objective of this course is to introduce the concepts, methodology and terminology of Enterprise Architecture and integrate this knowledge with previous courses in operating systems, database management systems, networking, and programming. The course primarily focuses on the overall planning process of enterprise architecture. Issues and options involved in implementing an enterprise architecture incorporating a distributed IT system are examined from a Macro Level. An ongoing discussion is conducted on how the emergent profession of enterprise architecture fits into the duties and responsibilities of today's IT manager. Other resources and references relating to the field of enterprise architecture are introduced.
