MGM608 Managing e-Business

Provides an understanding of the tools, skills, business concepts and social issues that surround the emergence of e-Business. It examines the resulting transformation of business organizations and the global economy. It takes a strategic and organizational perspective, instead of focusing on narrow technological and design issues. It investigates how technology and e-Commerce strategies are being used and explores the applicability of accepted business practices in an e-Business environment. It also examines the legal and regulatory issues (security-authentication, privacy-encryption, safeguarding of intellectual property rights, acceptable use policies and legal liabilities) associated with e-Business. Case studies are used to investigate successful and unsuccessful e-Business practices
