Doctor of Business Administration

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Colorado Technical University is the terminal degree for business professionals. The program integrates practical and theoretical skills to prepare students to think and act strategically. The program enhances students’ abilities to make positive contributions and be a thought-leader in the area of their chosen concentration.



DBA Program prepares the students to:

  • Demonstrate fluency with the body of knowledge and demonstrate ability to apply relevant knowledge to core business disciplines
  • Utilize analytical, critical thinking proficiencies, and advanced knowledge as a means of synthesizing, evaluating, and integrating concepts and knowledge for making decisions, managing complexities in organizations, and generating solutions
  • Apply effective theories, models, skills, and core business knowledge within a multicultural society.

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Colorado Technical University is the terminal degree for business professionals. The program integrates practical and theoretical skills to prepare students to think and act strategically. The program enhances students’ abilities to make positive contributions and be a thought-leader in the area of their chosen concentration.

The program thus includes fifteen core instructional courses plus nine doctoral research courses. Each class is conducted online.

In addition, graduation requires successful defense of a dissertation that requires a literature review and a research proposal. The research proposal must be approved by the student’s committee, consisting of a mentor and two readers. The dissertation is an extensive document that incorporates the literature review, a major study, and a proposal for further investigation. The dissertation must be approved by the student’s committee.


Graduation Requirements

In addition to the successful completion of the above 96 credit hours with an acceptable GPA, students must also satisfactorily complete and defend their research with a dissertation.


Symposium

Degree Completion

The student must be continuously enrolled until meeting all graduation requirements. A student who has not completed the research requirements by the end of the formal coursework continues by registering for RES893 Dissertation Research Continuation according to CTU’s re-take policy.
